Most of the artists are performing at Deerfield for the first time. We invite you to note the dates and plan to join us for each of these special occasions. There is no admission charge; a freewill offering will be received, with proceeds benefiting the performers. Each recital is followed by a “Meet-the- Artists” reception. Sunday, October 6th, 4:00 pm ~ Curtis Students in Fall Recital ~ We are delighted to welcome two students from the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Avery Gagliano, piano, from Washington, D.C. is making her first appearance at Deerfield. She was a semi-finalist at the recent Junior Cliburn Competition. Since her last appearance, Sydney Lee, cello, has studied and performed all over the world. She will be accompanied by Evelyn R. Larter, piano.
Sunday, December 1st, 7:00 pm ~ Annual Christmas Recital ~ A festive evening with two exciting new artists from The Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. Aubry Ballaro, soprano, is from Bryan, Ohio and Timothy Renner, baritone, is from Woodbridge, Virginia. Both have performed many roles on the opera stage, and have won many awards. They are joining us for the first time, and will be accompanied at the piano by Evelyn R. Larter. Come and enjoy this popular program of favorite carols and songs of the Christmas season!
Sunday, February 23rd, 4:00 pm ~ A Flute and Organ Recital ~ South Jersey native, Erik Meyer, and his wife Anna Meyer, are a wonderful duo on organ and flute. Erik is the music director at the Church of St Martin-in-the-Fields, Philadelphia, and also a gifted composer who has written music for their duo. He has performed solo organ recitals all around the country. Anna has just completed her doctoral studies at Temple University. Their first CD will be released in October, 2019. Don’t miss this outstanding program!
Sunday, May 17th, 4:00 pm ~ A Piano Spectacular ~ Another first-time artist, David Bryant has performed in solo recitals and with orchestras all over the world. Formerly on the music faculty at Eastern University, he is now the Director of Music Studies at Arcadia University. He will bring a thrilling program to end our series.
